LESS IS MORE – use fewer clothes to create more outfits with a well coordinated wardrobe
What’s in your closet? We wear 20% of our clothes 80% of the time; why not wear 100% of our clothes 100% of the time? If it was possible to look well put together in current trends without spending an outrageous amount of money – would you? Personal fashion consultant, Lisa Williams believes it’s essential for our personal well-being, our responsibility to our environment AND it is possible. How many items of clothing do you need to create a well coordinated wardrobe? Considering that it’s possible to create 40 outfits with 10 key pieces, you could wear a different outfit 7 days a week for 5 weeks and 5 days before you wear the same outfit again. How many outfits can you make with your current wardrobe?
Lisa’s passion for fashion began at an early age but really didn’t hit home until recently when she became a Personal Fashion Advisor. Frustrated with her own wardrobe, Lisa took the challenge of “leading by example” only to discover the task of creating a functional wardrobe was over-whelming and a lot harder than it should be. Trials and tribulations have rewarded Lisa with the tools she needed to talk on this subject and share her insight to help other women create more with less. Lisa believes creating a well-coordinated wardrobe is the answer; environmentally and personally and she is sharing the ‘why’s and how-to’ with women who are concerned about both.
Personal Bio
“I became a fashion advisor March 2009 and I am using my passion to help women wear confidence and compliments everyday by using the current fashion collections from a Canadian fashion’s direct company to support my message of “less is more”. Through educational workshops and presentations my personal goal is to help change the way women buy clothes in Canada and do my part to become more environmentally responsible through fashion”. After somehow completing a degree in Communications at Simon Fraser University, Ted roamed the streets of Vancouver trying to solicit business from people. He soon found out that in order to get business, you first need a company with services people want.
Enter Ballistic Arts Media Studios Inc. Along with his equally demented business partner Tak Kawana, Ballistic Arts was birthed in 2002. As a full-service creative agency, Ballistic Arts remedies all patients’ marketing ailments with the proper doses of graphic design, blend of website development, spoonful of video production, and a twist of photography services for good measure.
Like all ADHD-ridden entrepreneurs, ted can’t sit still. So, instead of having him talk them to death at work, his colleagues have put him in community groups. He currently serves as Marketing Chair for SHARE Family and Community Services Society's Just Desserts Gala fundraiser, and as Communication Chair for the Entrepreneurs Organization’s Accelerator program. In 2007-20009, he served as a board director for the Tri-Cities Chamber of Commerce and sat as Marketing Chair. And because he likes chairs so much, he sits in wooden chair when he mentors graphic design for the Immigrant Services Society of BC, and in a soft cushiony one when he attended IABC Professional Development meetings in 2009. Oddly enough, ted stands every week when he gives piano lessons to at-risk youth in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside.
He’s married (yes, really), a father of a little baby girl (again, yes, really), a black belt martial artist (to protect himself from himself), and able to speak 4 languages (sometimes all at once, and none very well).
